Cape Reinga is the most northerly point in New Zealand, a five hour drive north of the most northerly city, Whangarei. The cape is home to a lighthouse which is still in use today, helping to ensure that boats avoid the trecherous rocks that line this part of the coast.
Rotorua is known by locals as Rotavegas, it really is the adventure city of the north island. In this city you can Luge (Similar to go carting) down a 3 mile track, try out the forth highest Bungy jump in New Zealand or try a sky dive. For those of you into more relaxing passtimes, Rotorua is home to thermas geysers, these are like steam vents which allow the steam in the underlying volcano to escape. Without the geysers rotorua would quite simply be a time bomb waiting to go off. Be warned Rotorua smells of rotting eggs, because of the volcanic activity.
Christchurch is a very English city on the south island. The city is home to the largest cathedral in the country and plays host to many annual events such as the annual world buskers festival.
Queenstown is the adventure capital of New Zealand. Home to the second largest Bungy Jump in the world at just under 140 meters, it really is not for the feint of heart. You can Jet Boat, White Water Raft, and try swinging through the sky on the world's highest sky swing to name but a few of the dare devil activities. Queenstown is not to be missed.
